Halloween pumpkins are planted in July so this is our reminder to get your jack-o-lanterns in the garden now. Gardening is all about when and how to plant. Most carving pumpkins take 112 to 120 days to germinate and mature. We allow a few extra days for germination in our calculations, but we have always had good luck planting in mid-july. We do understand that some folks consider Halloween a pagan holiday or pagan festival called All Hallows Eve and that others may find it offensive. Our hope is not to offend anyone of any faith, and simply give planting advice on how to grow pumpkins.
