Easy DIY Halloween Decoration That Makes Heads Turn

http://www.hollywoodhaunter.com/ how to make a simple oscillating fan prop. This is a do it yourself Halloween animated prop how to make and operate video that shares a quick and ghetto life size prop made with an oscillating fan and foam head. Its one of many animated severed head turning prop ideas out there and is quite effective. It is placed in the farthest corner at the end of a very dark and mysterious hallway in our home haunt walk through maze. People tried to peer through the fog and darkness and could swear they saw a scary individual down there which prevented them from wanting to go any further. Most of them thought it was a real person and the screams were heard from the street. This is by far one of the simplest props to make and can be thrown together in a matter of minutes. Whatever your display or theme is for Halloween skulls, monsters, zombies, or scary bald dudes, making turning heads with fans is a Haunters favorite past time build. Be careful not to screw into any wires and always work on props when they are unplugged. Oscillating fans can over heat if they don't have enough air circulation. First find the fan we had this one in our house and it even comes with a remote. Then I looked for a nice location to attach an end cap to a 1/2 inch PVC pipe and screwed it into place. Then I stuck a short length of PVC into the pipe fitting and placed the foam head over the pipe. I found a couple mannequin arms at a garage sale and attach them to the wall panel in our walk through maze using plumbers strap. I used pieces of black cloth and sleeves to an old shirt to dress him up a little. If you set the fan up on a crate or box with the open end facing out you can even place a pair of shoes below to give a even realer effect as if a haunter was really standing there.

I try not to cover the remote control sensing portion of the fan so I can use the remote to operate the prop
Plumbers strap works great for attaching stuff to wall panels and fences
Check out the prop this guy distracts the people from, its startling!
